Monday-
Topics: Profit vs. loss, different roles people play in business operations; entrepreneurship
Activities: Students to take notes and participate in class discussions. Assignment: They will need to find an article or video about a famous entrepreneur. Read the article or watch the video (with headphones) (Will need to take notes while do this) Students will then share what they discovered about this entrepreneur with the class.
Tuesday-Wednesday
Topics: types of business operations, form of business organization
Activities: Students to take notes and participate in class discussions. Group work: In their assigned group, students will list 10 businesses in the White Oak/Longview area. They will then determine what type of business each are (service, merchandising, or manufacturing), then the form of organization of each (sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation). Be prepared to share with class. Students will then complete the Ch. 2 Section 1 Check your understanding on p. 31 in Accounting textbook. Answer the 2 thinking critically questions on notebook paper; skip communicating accounting; then answer problem 2-1 on workbook page provided.
Thursday-
Topics: Accounting, the universal language of business
Activities: Students to take notes, participate in class discussion, then complete the Ch. 2 Section 2 check your understanding on p. 35 in book and corresponding pages in workbook. If don’t finish in class, for homework. Due by the first of class Friday.
Friday-
Topics: Test Review
Activities: Ch. 2 Section 1 Check your understanding due. Students to complete the review sheets for Ch.2 using their notes and/or Accounting book. If don’t finish in class, for homework. Due by the first of class Monday.
