Lesson Plans for January 2-6, 2017

Monday-Friday

The student analyzes the sale process, techniques used to enhance customer relationships, and the likelihood of making sales.  The student is expected to:

  • explain the selling process
  • discuss motivational theories that impact buying behavior such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

The student understands how to increase sales by employing visual merchandising techniques and using special events to increase sales.  The student is expected to:

  • explain the use of visual merchandising in retailing
  • distinguish between visual merchandising and display
  • place merchandise for impact
  • plan special events
  • prepare stores and departments for special events

 

Lesson Plans for December 5-9, 2016

Monday-

Finish going through paperwork over productivity activity from Friday (Peanut butter and jelly assembly line)

Tuesday-

Test review questions over Productivity

Wednesday-

Test review questions due.  Students will participate in test review game.  Winning team or top 5 scorers will receive 5 bonus points towards test grade.

Thursday- 

Test over Productivity

Friday-

Test results/ corrections

Lesson Plans for November 14-18, 2016

Monday-Tuesday

Topics:

  • define the terms producers, raw-goods producers, manufacturers, builders, trade industries, retailers, wholesalers, and service businesses
  • categorize types of producers in a private enterprise system
  • identify types of retailers
  • explain the role of retailers in a private enterprise system
  • identify examples of wholesalers
  • describe the role of wholesalers in a private enterprise system

 

Activities:  Students will take notes over material, participate in class discussions, and complete activities as directed.

 

Lesson Plans for November 7-11, 2016

Monday-Friday

Objectives:

  • Explain the difference between needs and wants
  • Distinguish between goods and services
  • Describe the types of economic resources
  • Explain marketing strategies for goods and services
  • Explain how supply and demand affect prices of foods and services
  • Explain how economic resources determine what goods and services will be produced

Activities:  Students will take notes over material, participate in class discussions, and complete activities as directed.

 

 

Lesson Plans for October 31-November 4, 2016

Monday-

Activities:  Students will need to turn in their test review questions over “Role of government in business…”

Students will then take the Test- over Role of Government in Business and Organized labor.

**Will need a pencil because test will be on scantron.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Test results

Activities:  Students will receive their test results; time for questions/discussion; students will then use their notes to correct any questions missed on test.  Must write complete question and answer of all questions missed on a sheet of notebook paper. Due by the end of class.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Objectives for next section; chapter vocabulary

Activities: Students will define the vocabulary words for the next chapter by using the online business dictionary.  Due by the end of class.

 

 

 

Lesson Plans for October 24-28, 2016

Monday-

Topics:  Government in the role of regulator vs. provider

Activities:  Students to complete reinforcement activity “Roles of Government in Business.”  Students will need to research (newspaper or online news sources) and find one article in which the government is shown in the role of regulator, and one article which shows government in the role of provider.  Students will need to summarize articles and be prepared to share their findings with the class.

Tuesday-

Band out for competition-  bring something to read or work on quietly

Wednesday-Thursday

Topics:  Roles of organized labor in business

Activities:  Students to take notes and participate in class discussion.

Friday-

Topics: Test review

Activities:  Students to complete the test review using their notes.  If don’t finish in class, for homework. Due by the first of class Monday.
