Lesson Plans for March 27-31, 2017

Monday-

Topics: Visual Merchandising

Activities:  Notes over visual merchandising, class discussions, then students to complete following activity:  List an example of a store that would have each of the types of displays discussed:  closed displays, open displays, architectural displays, point of purchase displays, store decorations.  Discuss  findings with class when complete.

Tuesday-

 STAAR English I EOC Testing- If not taking test, please bring something to work on or read.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Visual Merchandising

Activities:  Review yesterday’s material; students to then…

  • Research 3 completely different stores online and find/report as many visual merchandising examples that you can
  • Put your findings into a PowerPoint or Google slides presentation
  • Slides are to include pictures of:
    • Displays
    • Lighting
    • Fixtures
    • Merchandise
    • Point of purchase
    • Storefront
    • Etc.
  • Also explain the target audience for each store
  • Explain how each store makes an impact with their product placement
  • Students to be prepared to share your findings with the class

Thursday-

 STAAR English II EOC Testing- If not taking test, please bring something to work on or read.

Friday-

Time to finish Wednesday’s research and presentation

Lesson Plans for March 6-10, 2016

Monday

Topics:  Advertising Media Test results

Activities:  Students to receive back graded tests; discuss; students will then complete corrections to test as needed.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Current averages for 9 weeks and missing work

Activities:  Students will be given a progress report for 3rd nine weeks.  They will be given the opportunity to make up any missing assignments (for a late grade of 70).  They will then take home the progress report to get signed by a parent.  If bring back by Friday, March 10, they will receive an extra 100 in the grade book.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Students to become familiar with new vocabulary

Activities:  Students to define assigned vocabulary using the business dictionary online.  Due at the end of class.
